JESUS=John
1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 So
the Word became human (Jesus) and made his home among us. He was full of
unfailing love and faithfulness And we have seen his glory, the glory of the
Father’s one and only Son.
I John 5:7 For
there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy
Ghost: and these three are one.
Revelations 19:13 He (Jesus)
wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. (Jesus is God)
Luke 11:28 But He said, “Blessed (happy and to be
envied) rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey and practice it!”
Notice it says “hear and
obey”-- sitting in a Bible study doesn’t please God but believing God’s Word
and obeying it does please God!) faith
moves God not emotion)
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and
powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul
and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and
desires.
It
says the word is alive and powerful sharpest sword ever yet if we don’t know it
or how to use it what good is it?
Ephesians 6:17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of God.
If the word of God is this important
why are we not in it all the time??? God calls the word a sword, which infers
it’s a weapon, and if a weapon, who is supposed to use it, and on who, and
how??? If we don’t know these answers
what good is the Word to us?
James 1:21-25 So get rid of all the
filth and evil in your lives, (who is responsible for getting rid of the filth
and evil???) and humbly accept the word God that you plant in your hearts, (are
we planting it in our hearts?) for it has the power to save your souls. But don’t just listen to
God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling
yourselves. For if you listen to the Word
and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a (word) mirror. You
see yourself, then you walk away, and forget what you look like (meaning you
don’t change what the spirit has revealed needs to be changed in your life). But
if you look carefully into the perfect law (the Word of God) that sets you
free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then this man
will be blessed in what he does.
1Peter 1:23-25 You
have been regenerated (if you’ve been born again), not from a mortal origin
(seed,
sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.
Isaiah 40:6-9 For all flesh (mankind) is
like grass, and all its glory (honor) like [the] flower of grass. The grass
withers and the flower drops off, but the Word of the Lord (divine
instruction, the Gospel) endures forever. And this Word is the good news which
was preached to you.
I think many, if not most,
get saved in their head, not in their heart! If the Holy Spirit lives in a
person, that heart would desire God’s word to sustain itself. A person professing
to be born again has to have God’s word to feed their soul, invigorate itself,
and live by or they will live by their flesh and we know that leads to death! All I know, there is something wrong with many
professing Christians. I ask you, is our church healthy? Why?
1 Peter 2:2 So get rid of (be
done with) all evil behavior(God is not going to do this for you)--all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech (this can’t be done without your will). Like newborn babies, you must
crave pure spiritual milk (word) so that you will grow into a full experience
of salvation (and all that salvation provides). Cry out for this
nourishment,(earnestly desire) now
that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.
The only way to grow is
through God’s word!
1 Peter 2:8
Jesus is the stone that makes
people stumble,
the rock that makes them fall. They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, (why don’t we obey God’s word?) and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. But you (born again people) are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession (but also with a free will of which God will always honor, God provided, we choose our destiny!). As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, (first of all we’ve got to believe God is good) for He called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
the rock that makes them fall. They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, (why don’t we obey God’s word?) and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. But you (born again people) are not like that, for you are a chosen people. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, (first of all we’ve got to believe God is good) for He called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
2 Peter 1:20-21 Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture
ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were
moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God. (Do we really believe God wrote the Bible and not man???)
Colossians 3:16 Let the word [spoken by] Jesus
(the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and
admonish and train one another
in all insight and intelligence
and wisdom [in spiritual
things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to
God with [His] grace in your hearts.
Do
we challenge each other concerning the meaning and application of God’s word?
Philippians 2:16 Hold
firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be
proud that I did not run the race in vain (without value) (must mean you can
run the race in vain) and that my work was not useless.
Regardless
whether people hold firmly to the word or not, if you did what God called you
to do you did not run in vain. I cannot control how people receive God’s word! I’m
only accountable for what I speak not how people react.
2 Timothy 2:15-16
Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested
by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly
handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. But
avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness.
What does God consider
empty talk? Discussions that cause arguments and do not produce growth in
Jesus! Daw! which means to avoid all empty talk--Get used to talking to
yourself--98% of conversation is about false idols or gossip!
2
Timothy 3:16-17 Every
Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for
instruction, for reproof and
conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness
(in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So
that the man of God may be complete and
proficient, well fitted and
thoroughly equipped for every good work.
So if we are not consistently in God’s word how can
any of this verse take place in our
lives?--This is so offensive to most!
XXX 2Timothy 4:2-4
preach the Word! Keep your sense of urgency [stand by, be at hand and ready],
whether the opportunity seems to be favorable or unfavorable. [Whether it is
convenient or inconvenient, whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher
of the Word are to show people in what way their lives are wrong.] And convince
them, rebuking and correcting,
warning and urging and encouraging them, being
unflagging and inexhaustible in
patience and teaching.
For
the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but,
having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather
to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to
satisfy their own liking and to
foster the errors they hold, And
will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.
Let’s take a close look at
these verses, it is saying there is a time coming of which I believe is here
now that believers, (you and I) will not listen to or submit themselves to the
truth of the word of God. They will go to churches that teach what they want to
hear so they can live their lives accordingly (ungodly). What happens to us, that we cannot read
anymore??? What causes a godly heart to be contaminated??? How can I guard my
own heart, preventing myself from falling into these ungodly traps??? Can you
see the importance of true godly fellowship, challenging each other in love, to
the truth of the word of God? Does this happen? Why not???
Matthew 13:18-23 Listen then to the [meaning
of the] parable of the sower: While anyone is hearing
the Word of the kingdom and does not grasp and comprehend it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was
sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the roadside.(was this person
saved???)
As
for what was sown on thin (rocky) soil, this is he who hears the Word and at
once welcomes and accepts it
with joy;
Yet
it has no real root in him, but is temporary (inconstant, lasts
but a little while); and when affliction or
trouble or persecution comes on
account of the Word, at once he is caused to stumble [he is repelled and
begins to distrust and desert Him Whom he ought to trust and obey] and he falls away. (was
this person saved???) As
for what was sown among thorns, this is he who hears the Word, but the cares of
the world and the pleasure and
delight and glamour and deceitfulness of riches choke and suffocate the Word, and it yields
no fruit.(was this person saved???) As for
what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the Word and grasps and comprehends it; (because their
heart is passionate and intense on knowing God’s word and following Jesus) he
indeed bears fruit and yields in one case a hundred times as much as was sown,
in another sixty times as much, and in another thirty. (according
to your faith it shall be done to you!!!)
Nehemiah 8:8
They
read from the Book of the word of God and clearly explained the meaning of what
was being read, helping the people understand each passage.
This
is a must, even though each one of us is responsible for our own walk and
understanding of God’s word. It takes the spirit of Jesus in a person to detect
a called and anointed person who can practically teach and explain how to apply
God’s word in different situations. I don’t think that’s prevalent today! Evidently, look at the church! If you’re not
sold out 100% you are a prime candidate for deception!) Where is our heart? What are our motives? Look up the many
different times God commands, for all of our heart soul mind and body I believe
His all means all! I know that’s a tall order but it’s his word! If we are not
around people who are sold out for Jesus most likely we won’t be either! Bad
companions ruin good character!
Luke 24: 45
Then He [thoroughly] opened up their minds
to understand the Scriptures.
True understanding of God's Word comes from Him alone with our
submission. The Word isn't written to our heads, it's written to our hearts,
and it takes our willingness to open up our hearts and let the Holy Spirit make
the Word of God come alive. We can't argue anyone into a relationship with God.
It has to come by revelation.
Acts
17: 11 And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in
Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the
Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth. (Do
we question the things that are taught to us? We better!) As a result, many Jews
believed, as did many of the prominent Greek women and men.
How often do we do this? Is
what he is saying in the Word – is that what I understand it to say? The most
important part of any group is its leader! False teachers = false message! =
confusion =carnality). What is a false teacher? Back in Jesus day a false
teacher would be one who did not witness to the Lordship of Jesus and that he
was sent from his Father as our Messiah and Redeemer. They did not have Bibles
as we do today so those who professed relationship with God apart from Jesus
were false. Anything with the term God in it rejecting the Lordship of Jesus is
dead religion! Today’s false teacher is similar in the fact that they do not
profess a personal relationship with Jesus through a born-again experience in
relationship to Jesus. They live by rules and outward appearance! Real
Christians live by inward appearance! Wherever the Word of God is not promoted,
encouraged, taught by the power of the Holy Spirit, which will change lives to the obedience of
the word of God, get away from it! Most have a form of God , trying to do all
the right things with their appearance but their heart is void of truth because
of an absence of the word of God taught in truth. Is there a genuine godly love
displayed? Unselfishness?
Many, many have head
knowledge not heart knowledge. Yes we are to associate with nonbelievers for
the purpose of being an influence to their understanding of Jesus but, are the nonbelievers
influencing me to their lifestyle or is my walk with Jesus influencing and witnessing
to them to the power of Jesus and his Holy Spirit living in my life? If we as
Christians are walking by the light of the gospel of Jesus we will be an
offense to them, (or else they will repent and become born-again) they won’t
want any part of you Christians because the light in you convicts them of their
sin. Few people wanted to be around Jesus unless it was for selfish reasons
because he demanded change (repentance) if you were going to walk with him.
Just because someone
teaches and understands the word of God a little different than me doesn’t
necessarily mean they’re false teachers. We are all growing in the true
knowledge of Jesus through his word on a daily basis, if we are real. It’s too
easy to develop a critical spirit against everyone who sees the word of God
differently than you. The cautions is this: Are we teachable and not
compromiseable? Are we willing to pray for them and ourselves that the truth be
revealed to all of us? And will I walk in love, with a genuine caring and
willingness to contribute to the success of my brother or sister in Jesus? (I’m
talking about people with pure hearts!) bottom line is this, where do you place
the importance of God’s word in your life? You are growing in whomever,
according to whom you’re running with. Bad companions ruin good character! Proverbs
13:20/
It’s more difficult to be
deceived if you’re walking closely with Jesus through revelation of His word with
a pure heart! Who is feeding you spiritually? Church, Fellowship, friends? Who
are your three best friends? Where is their walk with Jesus? Do you give more
love and understanding and time to your human siblings than you do to your
brother or sister in Jesus??? Is that right? You may ask how do I discern where
to go to church? I would answer it this way: if the Fellowship is growing me, I
am being convicted of my sin and challenged to repent and obey God’s word, walk
in love, grow in faith. Let’s say God’s word shows me the desires for me to be
well and the teaching of that fellowship is teaching me God doesn’t care if I’m
sick or he get glory in my sickness. I would have trouble sitting under that
teaching. Or if somebody’s teaching the gifts aren’t for today, boy if they’re
not, I don’t know how the church could grow because that’s totally contrary to
what God’s word says, once again, I couldn’t sit under that teaching. That is
how I personally would determine where I Fellowship. (Remember, Jesus didn’t
have a great following either!) I’m going to stand alone before God giving an account
of why I believe the way I do, with no
excuses or anybody else to blame! Our spirits are responsible to hear Jesus
voice not man’s voice. Whether you agree with me or not doesn’t nullify the
fact of our brotherhood in Jesus (but an open teachable born-again heart does.)
We’ve only got one enemy,
and that’s the devil!
We also have to guard
against false unity. Not every one that says Lord, Lord is your brother but
those who follow the word (Jesus)! Let your heart witness to you! Why are we so
quick to judge and destroy our born-again brothers and sisters in Jesus? If
there is no repentance let God deal with them but we should have a heart for
their reconciliation. If somebody is in the pulpit and shouldn’t be, I think
God is big enough to deal with that, you just have to guard your own heart from
sitting under that leaven of the Pharisees. If we are where we are supposed to
be in our walk with Jesus we will know what is of God and what isn’t! I just
have to make sure my heart is pure with no ungodly motives then trust God’s Spirit
to lead me. Remember though, if my first love is not Jesus and a desire to obey
his word deception is likely. (John 10:3, 4, 16, 27)
John
5: 39 You
search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures
diligently, because you suppose and
trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures]
testify about Me!40
And still you are not willing [but refuse] to come to Me, (through repentance)
so that you might have life.
Oftentimes
people think because they are in Bible study with an intellectual belief system
they are Christians. John 14:15, 23,
24/15:10
Deuteronomy 4:
2
Do
not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the
commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you. Deut 12;32/Rev 22;18,19
2 Corinthians
4:2-5
We reject all shameful deeds and
underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God.
We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this. If the Good News we preach
is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. Satan, who is the god of this world, has
blinded the minds of those who don’t (heart) believe. They are unable to see
the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about
the glory of Jesus, who is the exact likeness of God! You see, we don’t go around
preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we
ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.
Psalm 50:16-17 But
God says to the wicked: “Why bother reciting my decrees and pretending to obey my covenant? For you refuse my discipline and treat my words like trash.
Proverbs 1:29-33 For
they hated knowledge and chose not to
fear the Lord. (Proverbs 8:13) They rejected my advice and paid no attention when I corrected them. Therefore, they must eat
the bitter fruit of living their own way, choking on their own schemes. For simpletons turn away
from me—to death. Fools
are destroyed by their own complacency. But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.
Proverbs 13:13-14 Whoever
despises the word and counsel
[of God] brings destruction upon himself, but he who [reverently] fears and respects the word [of God] is
rewarded.
The
teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of
death.
Jeremiah 6:10 To
whom shall I [Jeremiah] speak and give warning, that they may hear? Behold,
their (ears) are uncircumcised [never brought into covenant with God or
consecrated to His service], and they cannot hear or obey. Behold, the word of the Lord has become to them a
reproach and the object of
their scorn; they have no delight in it.
Can we fall into that? Do you and I still delight in God’s word? How
can we tell?
Jeremiah 8:
9 These
wise teachers will fall into
the trap of their own foolishness, for they have rejected the word of the Lord. Are
they so wise after all?
Is this relevant for today?
If the Baptists, or evangelicals don’t
like the Pentecostals beliefs, gifts of the Spirit, healing, speaking in tongues, and the denominations
don’t like either, how do you know what truth is? Doesn’t it depend on who you
are listening to ??? One may say that
doesn’t witness to my spirit, well what if your spirit is dead?
Everybody believes they
have got the truth! We all know
somebody’s wrong here! So who in today’s
times would Jeremiah be talking to? Whether we like it or not we are going to
stand accountable. We can all say well I guess I made a mistake, this mistake
may be crucial--fatal!
Jeremiah
15:16 Your
words were found, and I ate them; (what does it mean to eat Gods word?) and
Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by
Your name, O Lord God of hosts.
Do you believe that someone
who is in God’s word once a week is considered eating God’s word? Do you
believe deception is playing a big role in the lives of professing Christians
today? Deception to the extent they think they have what they don’t have or
they think they don’t need what they don’t have. When’s the last time you sat
across from a Christian debating the truth of the word of God? It’s very
healthy spiritually if love is leading.
1 Corinthians 1:18 The
message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we
who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
There
is the cross of Jesus and what he accomplished there on our behalf, for us to
enforce the covenant. There is also our cross to carry, self-denial, submission
to God’s word, faith and love! How many
of us really understand or even care to know the meaning of the cross, other
than your sins are forgiven and you get to go to heaven.
XXXXX
2Timothy 4: 3 For
the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but,
having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather
to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to
satisfy their own liking and (to
foster the errors they hold,) And will turn aside from
hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.
This isn’t man talking,
this is God talking! So if we know this is happening, who’s going to admit they
are caught in this trap? One will say I follow Chuck Swindoll, another would say
I follow John MacArthur, another would say Benny Hinn, another Kenneth Hagan—Whoever
he is doesn’t matter, but why are we not just following Jesus??? Because we don’t know the word well enough to
stand on our own 2 feet and make our own decisions according to the truth of
the word of God!) We will stand accountable without excuse! The devil has our
minds believing, O God will understand, after all I’m not perfect, what am I
supposed to be -- a fanatic? We seem to be doing pretty good in the sports world
fanaticism wise or other idolatries. We
must wake up and take God’s word seriously and that means genuine Holy Spirit
Fellowship!
Psalm
119:28 My
life dissolves and weeps itself
away for heaviness; raise me up and
strengthen me according to [the promises of] Your word. (the reality is we have to
lay hold of those promises)
Psalm 119:92-95 Unless Your word had been
my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will
never forget Your precepts, [do you feel this way?] for it is by them You have
quickened me (granted me life). (you
can’t quicken something that’s dead without agreement) I am
Yours, therefore save me for I have sought (inquired of and for) Your precepts and required them [as my urgent need](a
beautiful heart). The
wicked wait for me to destroy me, but I will consider Your testimonies (word).
Psalm
119:105-107 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my
path.
I have sworn [an oath] and have confirmed it, that I will keep Your righteous
ordinances [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying them]. I am
sorely afflicted; renew and
quicken me [give me life], O Lord, according to Your word! (and
my persistent faith)
Proverb
4:20-23 My son, attend to my words;
consent and submit to my
sayings.
Let
them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For
they are life to those who find them, (are you are you and I finding them?) healing
and health to all their flesh. Keep and guard your heart with all
vigilance above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
These are not options, they
are commands and truths of which brings wholeness and victory over the world
and in our lives!
1 John 5:4
Proverbs
6:23 For
the commandment(word) is a lamp, and the whole teaching [of the word] is light,
and reproofs of discipline are the way of life, [Ps. 19:8; 119:105.]
How many of us welcome
correction and reproofs brought in love and sincerity according to God’s word? Pride destroys!
Mark 7:22/1 Timothy 3:6/1
John 2:16/
Isaiah
55;10,11-12 For as
the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but
water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to
the sower and bread to the eater, so
shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: (it shall not return to Me
void) [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that
which I please and purpose,(according
to my word) and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Does
not say might prosper, but says it will prosper!!!)
Matthew
7:26-27 And
everyone who (hears) these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a
stupid (foolish) man who built his house upon the sand. And
the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that
house, and it fell—and great and
complete was the fall of it.
This is a description the
person who does not act on God’s word by the same faith Jesus acted with and
the same way. It says the rain, floods,
and wind will come, meaning persecution and tribulation but if we respond as
Jesus did we will get the same results! So be very careful not come against
faith, the same faith Jesus walked in!) Why don’t we see the signs Jesus talks
about because our flesh would rather be led by religion, (man’s way)
rather than by God’s Spirit, of which is
a severe cost, positively and negatively!
Acts 20:32 And now [brethren], I
commit you to God [I deposit you in His charge, entrusting you to His
protection and care]. And I entrust you to the Word of His grace It is able to
build you up and to give you [your rightful] inheritance among all God’s
set-apart ones (those consecrated, purified, and transformed of soul).
Romans 10:8-11 But
what does it say? The Word is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that
is, (the Word of faith ) (is this true for you?) which we preach, Because
if you acknowledge and confess
with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust
in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved.(true belief in Jesus produces a lifestyle of godliness, love, and
persistent faith)
For with the heart (not the head) a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and
relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God),
and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his
faith) and confirms [his]
salvation.
The Scripture says, in Mark
8:38:11 No man who believes in Jesus [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in
Him] will [ever] be put to shame or
be disappointed. [Ps.
34:22; Isa. 28:16; 49:23; Jer. 17:7.]
Romans 12:1-2 I
appeal to you therefore, brethren, and
beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication
of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living
sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your
reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to
this world, but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind
[by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for
yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and
acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
God wants you to know his
will for you in this life! and how can I know it?
What does it mean to be not
conformed to this world?
How do we renew our mind?
Ephesians 5:26
The word of God, spoken in faith
in the Name of Jesus, has
awesome power to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles.
Isaiah
55:11 …so
is my word that goes out from my
mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I
desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
There is supernatural power in God's word; it will not return to Him empty.
When you speak the Word of God in faith, you are tapping into limitless power!
Matthew 21:22/Mark 11:24/(what does in
faith mean?)
Jeremiah
23:28-30 Let the one who has my word speak it faithfully ...“Is not my
word like fire,”
declares the LORD, “and like a hammer
that breaks a rock in pieces?” Therefore,”
says the Lord, “I am against these
prophets who steal messages from each other and claim they are from Me.”
Think of the Word of God as
a hammer. Picture it.
This hammer can drive home
a nail = positive results.
This hammer can break down obstacles = overcoming
negatives.
Three times Jesus spoke to
Satan: “It
is WRITTEN!”, and Satan’s schemes were defeated. There is great power in the spoken word of God, (if you believe it’s gonna come
to pass.)
How can one develop the
faith that believes what they speak is going to come to pass? Mark 11:24
In Genesis “God said, ‘Let
there be...’ ” and
light; sun, moon, and stars; animals, birds, and fish; and more came into being from God's spoken word--“sickness or disease, leave this body, because by the wounds of Jesus this child of
God was healed.”
If
we are supposed to continue doing the works Jesus did, and even greater works, how
can this be done if we haven’t been given authority to continue the works of
Jesus?
Don’t just “know” His Word,
but “KEEP”
it.
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on
him, If you (continue) in my word,
then are you my disciples indeed; And you shall know the truth, and the truth
shall make you free.
Is
it possible not to continue in his word??? And what if you don’t continue???
An uncontrollable habit? — “I am more than a conqueror
through Him that loved me.” Romans 8:37 (rebuke selfishness)
John
17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my
heart that I might not sin
against you.
The Word of God in our
hearts is a powerful weapon against sin.
Temptation comes through the eyes? — “I made a covenant with
my eyes.” Job 31:1
Romans 10:8 But what does it say? “The word
is near you; it is in your mouth
and in your heart,” that is, the word
of faith we are proclaiming.
(what is meant here by word of faith?)
That centurion understood this. He asked
Jesus to speak that word of
faith, and his servant would be healed.
Matthew 8:8
Peter understood this. He spoke
out: “Aeneas, Jesus
Christ heals you”
And Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ
[now] makes you whole. Get up and make your bed! And immediately
[Aeneas] stood up. Acts 9:33, 34
The all-powerful Word of
God — “the word of faith” — “is in YOUR MOUTH” to be spoken.
Speak to the mountain (if the faith of God gets established in you, you
will!!!) Matthew 17:20/ 21:21/Mark 11:23
SPEAK
God’s Word, and
expect the God’s power of that
Word to bring forth his results.
